Crotone welcomes first call of 2023
13.03.2023 Crotone welcomes first call of 2023

Crotone Cruise Port opens the 2023 cruise season by welcoming Viking Sky, ship belonging to the Premium Cruise Line Viking Cruises.

The elegant cruise ship arrived at the terminal this morning with about 924 cruise passengers onboard, mostly American guests, who visited the city of Crotone, one of the most important centres of Magna Graecia, and immersed themselves in Calabrian culture.

This season Viking Cruises calls the port of Crotone 13 times and thus it will be the main cruise company for the season in number of calls.

Cruise traffic in Crotone has been growing year after year and, thanks to the joint efforts of Crotone Cruise Port and the local Authorities, the cruise terminal of Crotone will host more than 30 calls in 2023 season.

Crotone is confirmed as a destination of growing interest in the Mediterranean panorama and this schedule shows Crotone Cruise Port’s commitment to promoting the city of Crotone and the territory of Calabria” - says Raffaella Del Prete, General Manager of the Company.

Since 2022, Crotone Cruise Port has been part of Global Ports Holding (GPH), the world’s largest independent cruise port operator, with an established presence in the Caribbean, Mediterranean and Asia-Pacific regions, including extensive commercial port operations in Montenegro. With an integrated network of cruise ports serving cruise liners, ferries, yachts and mega-yachts, GPH operates 27 cruise ports in 14 countries and continues to grow steadily, providing services for over 15 million passengers and reaching a market share of 29% in the Mediterranean annually.
